
Safety and Security
The Public Safety Office is responsible for campus safety and security, collaborating with the Residence Life office and local police and fire departments. Students are advised about security matters and procedures at a number of orientation sessions. In accordance with the Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990, the College collects information regarding campus security and alcohol and drug abuse. This information is available to all current students and employees. Campus crime statistics may be accessed at the U.S. Department of Education web site, http://ope.ed.gov/security/, or obtained from the Director of Public Safety at (631) 656-2196.

Five Towns College Annual Security Report and Annual Fire Safety Report

Five Towns College is committed to report to the Five Towns College community about their personal safety and security. The combined annual security and fire safety compliance document is available, and reports that no fires occurred in the residence halls. The report contains policy statements, critical procedures and programs concerning mitigation, prevention, response and recovery from emergency situations, supervision of sexual offenses and appropriate disciplinary procedures.
Statistics are included from crimes reportable in the geography mandated by the Clery Act, which is the Dix Hills campus and surrounding roads, and from local policy, if any.
