Theatre Education Faculty

The Education Division invites nominations and applications from outstanding educators interested in full-time and adjunct positions in a proposed program in Theatre Education. The proposed program will offer tracks of study leading to both undergraduate and graduate degrees, and will also to initial and/or professional certification from New York State as a Theatre Education teacher (All Grades). Faculty appointments may be anticipated during the 2008 – 2009 academic cycle.

In addition to the required general education competencies noted above for all faculty appointments, nominees and candidates for these faculty appointments must demonstrate a record of academic preparation in both Theatre Arts and Pedagogy. Successful candidates will possess a record of outstanding teaching experience at the elementary and/or secondary school level, and a record of appropriate theatrical credits. As an institution of higher education that focuses on the performing arts, the College recognizes that a limited number of candidates may be qualified solely on the basis of their outstanding professional accomplishments. Thus, individuals whose academic credentials do not meet the preferred criteria, but who possess an outstanding record of professional accomplishment as recognized by honors and awards from professional organizations, are also encouraged to apply.
