Philippe Bertaud Memorial Scholarship Awarded to FTC Graduate Student, Marcos Garcia
Five Towns College student, Marcos Garcia, is the first winner of the Philippe Bertaud Memorial Scholarship. Marcos, originally from Brazil but now living in New York, is a candidate for the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at FTC. He has earned a Master’s degree in Music Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Classical Guitar from the Federal University of Paraiba, Brazil.
Marcos is focusing on his Doctoral studies in guitar performance here and the entire FTC community is delighted to share this amazing recognition and award. For those who may be unfamiliar, Philippe Bertaud was an esteemed classical guitarist who passed away last year from a serious illness. He was a renowned guitar teacher and this memorial scholarship is a true honor and legacy that will live on.
