At last, on March 20, 2016, the Five Towns College Chamber Singers performed Ola Gjeilo’s “Sunrise Mass” at Carnegie Hall in N.Y.C. Not surprisingly, it was a huge success! Director and Professor Stephen Pagano and the individual members should be very proud. Btw, here are the names of these very talented FTC students: Brittney Aiken, Branden Andrade, Anthony Ayala, Keely Burn, Kyusik Chang, Murielle Desbrunes, Sampson Everdean, Megan Franqui, Paul Greene-Dennis, Richard Lacovara, Arielle Lewis, Amanda McDonough, Danielle Naney, Timberlin Nunez, John Potocnick, Deanna Probst, Amanda Procopio, Shannon Reid, Renee Shubert and Robyn Mia Smolensky.

They appeared with the New England Symphonic Ensemble and other choirs from around the United States. It was a very professional concert, of course! The ambience of one of New York’s grandest establishments brought an aura of success and accomplishment to the event and the group. The FTC Chamber Singers are deserving of tremendous accolades for their day on New York’s main stage. Even a question and answer session with the composer was included in this select invitational choral festival.

During a dinner break, the FTC Chamber Singers serendipitously serenaded restaurant patrons. They left to a standing ovation. One patron thanked Professor Pagano and said, “This was the most amazing performance. Thank you so much for spreading the joy of music to us.”

The concert organizers, Mid-America Productions, already signaled the FTC Chamber Singers that they look forward to future performances at Carnegie Hall. Many musical bridges were built that March weekend and many more musical memories and successes will likely follow.

Congratulations to the Five Towns College Chamber Singers and Professor Stephen Pagano!! Way to go!!
