Five Towns College is pleased to announce the hosting of the 2016 Long Island High School Jazz Ensemble Festival. Under the tutelage of Dr. Steve Briody and Professor Dean Karahalis, this all-day annual event (beginning at 9:30) will take place on Thursday, March 17 in the College’s Performing Arts Center.

A total of six schools will be performing, as well as receiving a coaching session from Prof. Karahalis, FTC Jazz Orchestra Director Dr. Briody, renowned jazz trumpeter Mike Carubia, and jazz keyboardist Bill Heller.

Five Towns College enthusiastically welcomes the students and band directors from Deer Park, Lynbrook, Island Trees, Wantagh, Bethpage, and Ward Melville! This is music education at its finest! And, as a pioneer in the field, Five Towns College is proud to be a part of this dynamic day.

So, please join us. This is always an exciting event featuring Long Island’s most promising young musicians. The admission is free to the public and Five Towns College students.
