ABOUT THE FTC VOCAL JAZZ ENSEMBLE

The Five Towns College Vocal Jazz Ensemble is the College’s premiere vocal group composed of the most talented and dedicated singers. Under the leadership of Professor Kristi Adams, the FTC Vocal Jazz Ensemble performs both traditional jazz standards and modern jazz and pop hits and features arrangers such as Paris Rutherford and Roger Emerson with songs performed by The Real Group and Pentatonix. In addition to celebrated performances at the FTC Performing Arts Center each semester, the group has performed at Long Island jazz venues and received great recognition. Known as a superior musical ensemble, they have performed at the NYSSMA Winter Conference as a featured group, the NMEA Conference Day as part of the special presentation on Vocal Jazz in the public schools, and were invited to perform at the Higher Education Lobby Day in Central New York. They have also conducted workshops and Master Classes across the Island. FTC alumni of the Vocal Jazz Ensemble have become professional singers, composers, and music educators.
