ABOUT THE EVENT

FTC Music Division is pleased to invite you to the first ever – Day of Jazz for High School students on Thursday, April 18, 2024 and the Day of Choir for High School students on Friday, April 19, 2024.

Both events are scheduled in the Five Towns College Performing Arts Center and will be immersive, engaging and energizing!

• Each ensemble will have a 30-minute time slot to perform two or three musical selections on the Main Stage in the Five Towns College Performing Arts Center.
• After the performance, a coaching session will be conducted by a panel consisting of FTC Jazz Professors and a renowned guest Jazz clinician.
• The 30-minute time slot includes the performance and coaching session.
• Each ensemble will receive an mp3 recording of their live performance, and the clinicians’ comment sheets.
• Practice rooms will be provided, and students may tour the FTC audio recording studios. Students are welcome to bring their lunch and eat in the Upbeat Café if they choose.
• Graduating seniors who participate and apply for admission to Five Towns College may be eligible for institutional scholarships.
• All attendees will be invited to participate in the Summer High School Scholars Music Ensemble course.
