Five Towns College Film Festivals On-Campus
The LI72 Hour Film Festival Competition
Student Filmmakers, Producers and Directors had a chance to be involved in a fun and educational experience hosted by Five Towns College. It was the 2025 Long Island 72 Hour Film Festival-Cell Phone Edition! Known as the LI72 Hour Film Festival, the Five Towns College Film and Television Department invited Long Island High School students to this exciting initiative. Over 100 high school students participated in this competition and the culminating event was held on October 24, 2025.
Further, the submitted films were screened and the winning filmmakers won recognition and prizes at the Awards Ceremony.

FTC Film & Television Luminaries Film Festival
The Luminaries Film Festival & Award Ceremony is the culminating event of the Film and Television Department. Collaborative student projects are showcased on the Main Stage in the FTC Performing Arts Center every academic year. Film and Television faculty, staff and students impress the audience with unique and outstanding student films. From classwork to storyboards to production teams, students make ideas become reality and learn the full range of skills needed to be successful in the industry.
Since the global pandemic in 2020, Film and Television Department has adapted the Luminaries to a virtual event, a combined event with the Long Island Media Arts Show as well as included a Conference. Visit the links below to see some of the past events.
