It is opening day at the Great South Bay Music Festival in Patchogue, New York. The weather seemed to hold up nicely; overcast skies with a bit of a breeze. A lot of bands performed both on the main stage and the Clamshell Bandshell stage, providing plenty of music to vibe to.

WFTU Radio is broadcasting many of the performances live on the Clamshell Bandshell stage, which is sponsored by Five Towns College, and interviewing band members after their sets. Bands such as #OurselvesAndOthers from Texas had great crowd participation. Station Manager Matt O’Leary says he is looking forward to great music at the festival.

In addition to visiting the WFTU radio station remote set, festival goers can stop by the Five Towns College Admissions table to spin the wheel and win a prize, plus talk about how FTC may be a great choice for their college career.

And this was just day #1. There will be more coming throughout the weekend. Make sure you dress cool and stay hydrated through the next three days. Enjoy the Great South Bay Music Festival.
