Five Towns College Film Festivals On-Campus
The Five Towns College Film and Television Division showcases collaborative student projects on the Main Stage in the FTC Performing Arts Center every academic year. The culminating event is The Luminaries Film Festival & Award Ceremony. The Film and Television faculty, staff and students impress with unique and outstanding student films. From classwork to storyboards to production teams, students make ideas become reality and learn the full range of skills needed to be successful in the industry.
For the academic years 2022 and 2023, the Luminaries was combined with the Long Island Media Arts Show (LIMAS) and Conference. When FTC hosted this joint event, the purpose was to give high school students the opportunity to share and experience what a competitive exhibition with college students was like as well as to incorporate an educational conference-something new-where expert panelists in the world of digital art shared insight and valuable information with attendees.
