April 2019 Campus Recap-Part 1
There was so much going on in April that there hasn’t been a moment to report-until now- . . . here’s the recap!
First up, the Music and Entertainment Industry Studies (MEIS) Seminar was a huge success. Spearheaded by the Business Management Division Chair Kate Kimmel and the Coordinator of the Music and Entertainment Industry Studies (MEIS), Assistant Professor Ed Crocoll, Jr., four panels of industry specialists were assembled to carry the day. Headlined as Music and Entertainment Industry Today: The Multi-faceted Approach, the event was replete with expert advice, practical suggestions, and interesting conversations that dove into topics about podcasting, social media and marketing, live industry/touring, and entertainment careers. Numerous and esteemed speakers presented throughout the day with Keynote Speaker, Bridget Kelly, accomplished musician, singer and actor of “Love & Hip-Hop: Hollywood” kicking off the event. FTC’s Trinity Wilson-Walker and Galway Boys livened the scene with some energizing music.
The MEIS Seminar was followed by the FTC Spring Fest– always a lot of fun on campus! This year, the Spring Fest was a cool vibe Club Fest turning the Upbeat into a mellow mood event with hot white club furniture adorning the space. Delicious dinner with surprise sushi and pretzel bites from Auntie Anne’s made the Fest even sweeter 🙂 The music was outstanding-Good Ego started off, Arahmus Brown was up next, Trinity, Galway Boys, Ghoulia, Obasi Jackson, Wavy D, and The Celestial Project all contributed to a great Friday evening in Dix Hills.
