April 2019 Campus Recap-Part 2

April showers certainly didn’t slow down the action at Five Towns College. The FTC Annual Career Fair was held on April 16th. This boutique FTC-only event gives not only seniors an opportunity to network one-to-one with industry professionals but also offers FTC students the chance to meet local companies involved in the entertainment business. Whether these companies specialize in the technical aspects such as audio or as technology providers, generally, or as vendors of broadcasting services, media companies, etc., there were a variety of entertainment industries on site. By the end of the day, students had learned about preparing strong resumes, dressing for success, interviewing tips, and communicating their best selves to potential future employers.

As if the above wasn’t action enough, following the Career Fair was a special Dedication Ceremony when the newly renovated FTC Library was named the Lorraine Kleinman and Stanley G. Cohen Memorial Library/Learning Resource Center after the founders of the College. It was a meaningful and important dedication in the College’s history of almost 50 years and the founders received the recognition they deserved by having a special oil painting hung on the main wall- a tribute to a formidable legacy of education, motivation and passion.

Not done yet . . . the Accepted Students Dinner– a first for Five Towns College- was a successful bringing together of some of the new entering freshmen for the Fall 2019 and their parents. FTC shared some insights about campus life and academic expectations, FTC graduate Music students performed, and even the College’s mascot, Fader, appeared on the scene!

At last . . .the Theatre Division presented its spring Shakespearean production-A Midsummer Night’s Dream-a hilarious comedy as April’s showers come to a close. A fantasy filled with forest fairies, a wedding and unexpected conversations showcases FTC students talents and abilities on the center stage.

All in all, April 2019 was a campus hit! Enjoy some of the pictures below and stay tuned as May launches with FTC Fest on Thursday May 2nd, 4-9 pm with lots of student bands and a great time for all!
