Five Towns College gets to boast that its Alum, Syndee Winters, has taken “Center Stage” and was cast in Hamilton on Broadway. This is major news but FTC is not really that surprised. After all, Syndee Winters not only received a B. F.A. degree in Theatre from FTC but she, then, was recognized with the Distinguished Alumni Award at Commencement about two years ago.

Syndee is always willing to return to campus to inspire FTC students through initiatives led by The Career Services Center and Student Activities. In addition to her current role in Hamilton, Syndee has performed on Broadway in the lead role of Nala in The Lion King. And, she has starred in Pippin and Motown the Musical, also on Broadway. Time and time again, she has presented and shared her amazing acting, singing and performing talents with the FTC community.

The story of Alexander Hamilton, a founding father, is played out in the hit Broadway musical, Hamilton. Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote the music and lyrics and received wide acclaim and recognition for this. Having premiered at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway in 2015, Hamilton won tons of accolades, including 16 Tony nominations, winning 11, including Best Musical, and was the recipient of the 2016 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album and the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

FTC is so proud of Syndee! We all know that in addition to her innate gifts, she is a determined and hard-working professional. She is so deserving of this amazing opportunity and the entire campus wishes her the very best!!

So, in reply to the title of Miranda’s final song in Hamilton, “Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story?” FTC says this, “The thrill of participating in one’s educational journey never ends . . . those young, talented, personable and driven young students who enter our doors as freshmen morph and grow at every on and off-campus opportunity and this institution is watching, observing, supporting and is here to shine the spotlight on you, tell your story, and share in all of your successes along the way!”

Congratulations to FTC’s own Syndee Winters!! Enjoy every moment of the spotlight-you deserve it!!!
