FTC Professor Stephen Pagano will lecture at two upcoming musical conferences.

The first is at the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) NY Fall Conference to be held at the Garden City Cathedral on November 4th, 4-5 p.m.

The ACDA is a national organization. Each state has its own chapter. Also, the country is divided by regions i.e. Eastern (12 states), Southeastern etc. ACDA NY is for New York State only. It is expected that around 100-125 Choral Directors from all over the state will attend the conference and about 80-100 will attend Professor Pagano and the FTC Chamber Singers’ session.

The second is the Balanced Mind Conference to be held at Molloy College on November 8, 12:45-2:15pm. The Five Towns College Chamber Singers will act as his demonstration ensemble. The session is entitled: “To schwa or not to schwa . . . that is the question.” This interest session will demonstrate various proven methods to improve choral diction and dynamics.

The Balanced Mind Conference is in its 20th year. Music and art administrators from Nassau and Suffolk Counties attend it. It is a very large conference with about 500-1000 participants. The FTC Chamber Singer session is expected to be attended by a group of about 25-50. Professor Pagano has presented several times at this conference but this is the first time the FTC Chamber Singers are joining him.

FTC applauds Professor Pagano and the Chamber Singers for these great initiatives and sends best wishes for two successful events!!
