FTC Film/Video Students Score Big in Manhattan

FTC Film and Video Group

The weather may be hot and humid outdoors but in the Big Apple, the only thing really “hot” is the amazing cinematography produced by Five Towns College students, faculty and alumni!

Just this past week, following the star-filled 4th of July holiday, a group from FTC Film/Video Division participated in the 48 Hour Film Festival in Manhattan. The FTC group a/k/a Thursdays Shoots was randomly assigned to produce a horror flick in 48 hours. Creatively modifying that to a horror-comedy, the group wowed the judges and was awarded the overall Audience Choice for Best Film. The modest but esteemed FTC Professor and alumni, Charlie DesJardin, won the award for Best Cinematographer, an awesome claim to fame and certainly very much deserved.

And, that’s not all the Five Towns College Film/Video students were up to . . . some were fortunate to attend the Professional Cinematographers’ Union Workshop with esteemed Professor and Cinematographer Sol Negrin. The two-day workshop was held on June 27-28 at the union studio in New York City.
