Matt Harris is a decorated talent & data driven a&r and artist manager, with a proven track record of signing & developing a-list songwriters, producers, and recording artists. Matt recently exited as Senior Director of A&R Research at Warner Records & Second Estate Records, to start and run his own A&R Consulting & Artist Management Firm: Hideaway Music Group (HMG).
HMG is an independent a&r consulting firm & artist management company that currently manages artists & contracts as a consultant for the a&r teams at: 300 Entertainment, Atlantic Records, 10K Projects, Warner Records, Republic Records, Mercury Records, Def Jam Records, and Big Machine Label Group.
Matt graduated from Five Towns College 6 years ago in 2019, after transferring from CU Boulder in Colorado. Matt attended 3 years at Five Towns College, where he managed artists the entire time while simultaneously taking classes, eventually leading to dean’s list, and receiving the opportunity to intern at Universal Music Groups, Republic Records. At Republic Matt got to meet some of the best in the biz and worked on the teams for Drake & Ariana Grande.
Post-graduation, Matt went on to work full time first as an executive assistant at ViacomCBS, before leaving to work as an a&r assistant at Commission Records. At Commission Matt got to work with artists and on projects for MadeinTYO, Lil Dicky, Derez DeShon, 24Hrs, Big Havi, and producer Powers Pleasant.
Post Commission Records, Matt went on to work full time for the next 4 years at MLM Publishing (Missing Link Music) as an a&r coordinator, where he eventually rose to head of a&r, after signing 110+ commercially successful songwriters, producers, and artists to the MLM publishing roster. Some of these creatives went on to receive RIAA gold & platinum certifications for newly certified works by Young Thug, Kodak Black, Pooh Shiesty, A$AP Ferg, Pop Smoke, Yeat, Polo G, DJ Khalid, BigXthaplug, Jelly Roll, Derez De’Shon, Summer Walker, & NBA Youngboy.
After 4 years at MLM, Matt eventually left the publishing world to join the major label side of the business, joining as an a&r director at Warner Records. At Warner Records, Matt lead the a&r team at the Warner join venture label, Second Estate Records, where he helped to sign artists, and worked with artists such as 2Rare, LG Malique, Kill Dyll, and Nobu Woods. Matt spent several years working with Warner exclusively before ultimately leaving to build HMG, allowing him to now consult for an array of the worlds leading music companies & major record labels, while also being able to manage his own roster of budding superstars & riaa gold & platinum creatives via Hideaway Music Group.
