The Five Towns College Business Management Division presents the Fall 2019 Music Entertainment Industry Studies (MEIS) Seminar this Friday, November 1 from 9am-4pm in The Downbeat and Center for Applied Music. The MEIS Seminar will feature four panels of speakers who will address these major topics: (1) The Benefits of Multiple Revenue Streams; (2)  The Business of Beat Making; (3) Content Creating/Music Videos; and (4) Careers in the Industry.

Each panel includes about four experts each who will discuss relevant issues. A networking opportunity is also included for students and alumni. The Five Towns College Business Division is committed to bringing industry professionals together on campus to network, share ideas, and educate the next generation of music business executives and performers.

The Keynote Speaker is Ramon “Illmind” Ibagna Jr.  Ramon “Illmind” Ibagna Jr. is a Record Producer, Songwriter, and Educator. Illmind has co-written and produced hip hoptrappopsoul, and electronic music for labels such as Cash MoneyDef Jam, and Aftermath, and has worked with artists such as Andy MineoKanye WestDrakeJ. ColeDr. DreLudacris50 CentAriana Grande, and others. His accomplishments in 2016 include production on the new Hamilton Mixtape and Disney’s Moana (2016 film), both created by Lin-Manuel Miranda. His album, Human, was a collaboration with Joell Ortiz, and he established his own multi-genre music company Roseville Music Group in 2014.

The Music Entertainment Industry Studies Concentration at Five Towns College is designed for students interested in a career in a music or entertainment related business field.  Courses include the technical, legal, production, managing, merchandising, marketing, and licensing aspects of the music business.

The concentration assists students who plan to work as artist managers, record and publishing company owners, executives, promoters and producers of music videos to achieve their career goals and Five Towns College is pleased to support the MEIS Seminar in support of this.

The MEIS Conference is open to all students and alumni. We look forward to a day full of learning, entertainment and vision.
