Five Towns College Professor Milton Justice will present an acting workshop at the Stanislavsky Center International Symposium in Prague, Czech Republic at the end of March. Professor Justice, who has an Academy Award for documentary as well as an Emmy Award, was mentored by the legendary Stella Adler, whose students include Marlon Brando and Robert DiNiro. Adler was the only teacher in the West to study with Konstantin Stanislavsky, who is responsible for all of modern acting techniques. Professor Justice’s workshop in Prague is based on his many years of study with Miss Adler.

The Stanislavsky Center, based in London, presents yearly symposiums exploring the legacy and influences of Stanislavsky on the contemporary theatre. The keynote speakers for the event are Anatoly Smeliansky (President, Moscow Art Theatre School) and Jan Burian (General Director, Czech National Theatre).

In addition to mentoring Professor Justice, Adler selected him to be Artistic Director of the theatre company, based out of her Los Angeles Conservatory. Prior to Five Towns College, Milton taught at Yale, NYU, Unitec in Auckland, New Zealand and for a year he was Dean of the Institute of Creative Arts in Seoul, Korea. His former students include Mark Ruffalo, Sean Astin, Kyra Sedgwick, Chris Carmack, Benecio Del Toro, Salma Hayek – to name a few. His most recent film, Losing Chase for Showtime, marked Kevin Bacon’s directing debut and won a Golden Globe for Helen Mirren.

Five Towns College is absolutely thrilled to have Professor Justice back on campus where he has added to the energizing and creative vibe emanating from the Theatre Arts Division. This academic year, he has directedVanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, Waiting for Lefty and Time Stands Still, which have all earned high acclaim.

He will be educating and training a select group of high school students this summer @ Five Towns College during the Summer Stock program. For more information about the summer program, visit http://www.ftc.edu/forms/summer_2017_brochure_web.pdf/
