Tom Mis
Class of 2014
B.B.A. Business Management/Audio Recording Technology
Senior Producer
Hachette Audio

Tom Mis graduated from Five Towns College in 2014 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree (B.B.A.) in Business Management and a concentration in Audio Recording Technology. While a student, Tom could be found at one of the Audio Studios on campus as a Studio Assistant or Studio Manager. During his last few semesters, Tom interned at other professional studios and record labels until he “fell down the rabbit hole” of audiobook production.

He started his career as a Project Manager and Operations Manager for one of the largest audiobook production houses in New York City, located in the heart of Times Square. In 2018, he made the move to the publishing side of the business as an Audiobook Producer for Macmillan Audio. Notable productions from his time there include The Moment of Lift, written and read by Melinda Gates; Half-Light, written and read by Pulitzer Prize winning poet Frank Bidart; and T.J. Klune’s The House in the Cerulean Sea, narrated by Daniel Henning.

Tom soon had an opportunity to join Hachette Audio and get involved with projects more aligned with his interests. This included, among other things, five days with Judas Priest’s legendary lead singer, Rob Halford; Tom directed and produced his autobiography Confess; herding Dave Mustaine and the members of Megadeth in retelling the story of their 1990’s thrash masterpiece in Rust in Peace; and producing the upcoming autobiography from the Mistress of Darkness herself, Cassandra Peterson, in Yours Cruelly, Elvira.

Tom currently resides in New Jersey with his fiancée, also Five Towns College alumni and the Valedictorian of the Class of 2015 Sonia Goldberg, a cat, and more guitars than one person should reasonably own.
