Early Action Application Process & The Early Action Incentive Grant (EAIG)

Overview

Five Towns College offers a unique incentive grant to encourage high school students to ACT EARLY and apply to college during the fall semester of their senior year.

Difference Between Early Decision and Early Action

Many colleges have two options for students applying for the upcoming Fall semester. They are different and students need to understand why. Here is the short explanation to help you make a choice.

Early Decision: Students who apply Early Decision to a college are making a contractual commitment to attend that school if they are admitted. They are bound to attend, and their decision is made.

Early Action: Students who apply Early Action to a college are opting to secure a spot in the Fall entering class with a deposit. However, this is not a contractual commitment and, in most cases, students can receive a refund of their $200 deposit if they give notice to that school by May 1.  They are still free to consider other schools.

Early Action Incentive Grant (EAIG)

At Five Towns College, the Early Action Incentive Grant (EAIG) is a unique offering and is an extra bonus for high school students applying for the Fall 2026 semester. If they apply, are admitted, and submit their tuition deposit on or before December 1, 2025, they qualify for a one-time EAIG of $1500.  The grant is added to the financial aid offered to freshmen, in the amount of $750 per semester during the 2026-2027 academic year. Note that the EAIG is awarded for the freshman year only.

  • The Early Action application process at Five Towns College is not a binding contract. This differs from the Early Decision opportunity that mandates attendance at the institution following admission.
  • Individuals interested in the EAIG are encouraged to submit their application and required materials as soon as possible. To be reviewed for admission for Fall 2026, in addition to the application, freshman applicants must submit: (1) an official copy of their high school transcript, (2) a personal statement, and (3) a letter of recommendation. Students who plan to major in music education, performance, or theatre must also successfully complete an audition as part of their application process.

When you apply to Five Towns College, we want you to feel appreciated and the Early Action Incentive Grant (EAIG) is our way of saying THANK YOU for considering us early. It’s a win-win situation and now, your spot is secure!
