
FTC Theatre Arts Chair David Krasner Honored for Academic Leadership
We’re beyond proud to share that Dr. David Krasner, Chair of Theatre Arts at Five Towns College since 2018, has been awarded the prestigious Harvey Young Award for Academic Leadership from the Association for Theatre in Higher Education—a tribute to his extraordinary contributions to theatre education and mentorship .
With a teaching career spanning decades, Dr. Krasner has held leadership roles at Yale, Emerson, Dean College, Southern Illinois University, the University of Idaho, and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He’s also an acclaimed author and editor, recognized with the Errol Hill Award (twice) and the Betty Jean Jones Award .
This honor celebrates not just his teaching, but the remarkable influence he’s had on theatre professionals across the nation. Here’s to Dr. Krasner—an inspiring pioneer shaping future generations of actors, directors, and theatre scholars!
