Five Towns College proudly sponsored the 2014 Long Beach International Film Festival this past August. Originally founded in 2012, the festival celebrates the art of storytelling through cinema and showcases not only features, fictions and documentaries by the world’s top filmmakers, but also the noteworthy work of fresh, new talent.

Charlie DesJardin, a recent Five Towns College graduate, was among those to receive this prestigious honor. He and his crew presented their feature film “That One Night,” a love story, which received positive feedback.

DesJardin graduated just this past May with a B.F.A. in Film/Video, and here he is on the red carpet, sharing his film with the world!

“It’s a great opportunity to go to a college that allows you to take out professional quality equipment and allows you to continually make films and documentaries,” he said. “The best advice I have for students interested in studying film is to get experience on a real set and keep doing what you have a passion for. Five Towns College made me a ten times better filmmaker.”

DesJardin is excited to work at Five Towns College this fall as the equipment room manager!
