FTC Theatre Arts Division Hosts Master Classes:
Mr. David Meyer, Actor and Teacher,
From London’s World Famous Globe Theatre

Five Towns College is privileged to host the esteemed Actor and Teacher, Mr. David Meyer, on Wednesday May 3rd. David Meyer, best known to movie audiences as one of the Russian twins in the 1983 James Bond film, Octopussy, will present two Master Classes on campus and share his expertise that covers all aspects of the Theatre industry with FTC students. This will be a rare opportunity to learn from one of the most acclaimed performers and educators in the field.

For the past decade, Mr. Meyer has been a teacher at London’s legendary Globe Theatre. He has appeared in three Shakespearean films, including Hamlet and played the role of Hamlet opposite Helen Mirren, who played both Ophelia and Gertrude. As an actor, he has a wide expanse of experience, having toured the world in Peter Brook’s fabled production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, as well as having been a member of Lindsay Kemp’s Theatre Company, sharing the stage with David Bowie. In Los Angeles, he appeared in Entertaining Mr. Sloane, directed by Five Towns College Professor Milton Justice and he received Best Actor in Los Angeles Theater in 1992. Shakespeare: The Man and the Myth at 3:30 p.m.
