The FTC Film/Video Division Luminaries Awards Ceremony was absolutely illuminating! In fact, this entire week at FTC, students and faculty in the Film/Video Division were in the spotlight as they shared their senior and end of the semester projects in the FTC Performing Arts Center.

As the Luminaries Awards Ceremony opened, several students really made a name for themselves with great cinematography, screenwriting, producing, directing, acting, etc. Thanks to the dedication of Dr. Kathy Curtiss, Chair of the Film/Video Division and the faculty and staff, the evening was spectacular and awesome.

The ambitious and talented FTC students illuminated the evening. These aspiring movie producers, film collaborators, and editors presented an array of projects that makes FTC proud. And, they worked so hard. For the past few months, film scenes and productions took place all over the campus. Clearly, their work was serious, passionate, educating and enjoyable. FTC commends their accomplishments at the Luminaries!

One student, when accepting her “Sollie” award, named for esteemed cinematographer and FTC Professor Emeritus Sol Negrin, thanked her parents for allowing her to go to a college where she could major in film instead of becoming a nurse or a teacher!

Congratulations to the entire FTC Film/Video Division!! In our eyes, you are all winners and we will cheer you on wherever your futures take you!! It was a Great, Great Luminaries Awards Ceremony!!!
