Reflecting on September Events @ FTC

flag

September was a time for the institution to reflect upon significant historical events. The College commemorated 9/11 by pausing and reflecting upon the horrific events that impacted our nation and forever changed the lives of so many of our citizens. A gathering around the College’s flagpole and the reading of selected poems reminded us about those who lost their lives, those who persevere, and living in a nation changed by demonic and destructive acts.

Aside from Convocation, the start of classes, the upcoming Club Fair (today!), there are a few academic division mixers on the calendar this week. Everyone knows what a mixer is, right? It’s not a tonic or juice for a drink but an opportunity to mix and mingle or, otherwise network and meet other students and faculty in your programs who you may not just socialize with but collaborate with on projects. Here, @ FTC it is important to stay engaged and by getting involved in academic division events, students enrich their college years.

So, while it’s important to reflect upon what September brought to campus, let’s get energized for October. There are always a lot of fun and educational opportunities to keep busy with like the upcoming Theatre Arts Division show, She Loves Me, the excitement of the Sound Basketball games, Career Services Center Roundtable series featuring Get Hired: Employer Buzz, Student Activities Throwback Thursday and Film Festival screenings.

To All—Enjoy the fall and keep up with your studies . . . after all, that’s what you’re here for and reach out if you need help. That’s what we are here for ☺
