Remembering FTC’s Co-Founder, Lorraine Kleinman Cohen

Lorraine Kleinman Cohen

On this special day . . . 91 years ago, a leader was born- a woman leader, someone whose exuberance for life would touch the lives of everyone who walks through the front doors of this institution of higher education.

In the beginning, this campus was a commuter school. Now, growth and advancements have changed the landscape. Here, in Dix Hills, this boutique campus has retained its unique academic character while investing significantly in improved technology, accomplished faculty, modern equipment, and expertise in the industries it serves.

A few years ago, we wrote about some of the lessons that Lorraine Kleinman Cohen shared with those who were in her circle of life as well as in her classroom. While she may be with us spiritually, there are definite moments of divine intervention when we feel her spirit is really watching over this great campus that she was an integral part of and helped to establish.

Here are Lorraine’s Lessons to live by:

Be authentic! Be caring! Be thankful! Be humorous!

And, as the semester heads towards the last stretch, remember to study diligently and prioritize your course work so you can excel. After all, we all have great talent and deserve to be successful. Put your academics first and everything else will fall in place J

Good luck everyone and remember legacies are important and meaningful!
