Orientation Leaders

Here at Five Towns, we provide a plethora of opportunities for students to take on leadership roles and responsibilities that help them grow personally, professionally, and academically. There are certain compensations and incentives to take on one of these roles, but ultimately these students get involved because they truly care about this school and helping others.

If you are interested in becoming a student leader, visit the Student Life Office and ask about how to get involved (located in the Downbeat Café) 631-656-2151, Ask to speak with Joy Grynko, Director of Student Activities.

Meet these students, as well as the rest of our student leaders on move-in day and at orientation!

Meet Your Orientation Leader!

Orientation Leaders work with the staff of the department of Student Activities and Residence Life to help with the duties and responsibilities of implementing the Student Orientation and Matriculation Day programs. Orientation Leaders will develop leadership, facilitation, communication, and public relation skills by assisting new and transfer students in their transition to the Five Towns College community. Getting involved is the best way to succeed at college. Statistically, students who get involved in clubs and organizations perform better academically and report more overall satisfaction in their personal , social, and overall college experience.

Q:How can I get involved?
A:There are numerous ways to involve yourself on the Five Towns campus! Join one of our many clubs, which include Theatre Club, Improv Club, Disney Club, and many more. You can also start your own club, just find five friends and visit the Student Activities director in the student life office. Another great way to get involved is by joining SGA, our student government organization. Become a senator or hold a position on the e-board as secretary or treasurer. YOU could even become SGA president one day!

Q:Can I plan a program?
A:YES! Any student has the ability to plan a program—whether it’s a music showcase, a dance or social, or even a movie night in the Downbeat café. You have the power to do anything you put your mind to! Visit the Student Life office to learn more!
