It’s here! The start of the 2017-18 Academic Year is upon us and the College is ready to go! Students from all over the world and, especially, from the tri-state region, move on campus and are energized to commence their higher education studies.

Five Towns College has been getting ready for the fall semester and there are campus improvements all around. Some are still underway, so please be patient as the esteemed facilities management team wraps up some projects for everyone’s benefit.

This year’s Convocation ceremony continues a new Five Towns College tradition of bringing all campus constituents together to share some inspiration and insight about how a higher education enhances lives. On Thursday, September 7, 2017, Five Towns College welcomes the eleven Emmy Award winner, renowned and accomplished veteran News Reporter, Rolland G. Smith, former Sony Music Executive Cory Rooney, and NY Independent Party leader, Frank MacKay to the FTC Performing Arts Center stage. There, they will certainly share highlights of their careers and inspire students, faculty and staff to work hard, follow their dreams and do their best.

As the College enters its 45th year, its inspiring theme is coined “From Sapphire to Semi-Centennial” and there is much to boast about. Aside from being known as a niche school for the performing arts, a music college, and a cutting-edge film/video school, Five Towns College has an established and awesome Music Business and Audio Recording Technology program, brand-new WFTU radio and television studios & the Sound Athletic teams that take its Mass Communication program to the next level, a Theatre Arts program that is second to none, and, yet, still remains the most affordable private residential college on Long Island.

Convocation is all about enduring spirit and inspiring students to be excellent. The College thanks the special honorees for participating and sharing their stories. And, of course, FTC extends very best wishes to all students for a successful and enjoyable year!!

Here’s to 2017-18 AY!!!
