FTC Theatre Arts Division did it again! They went, they presented, they succeeded, they progressed to the semi-finals, and gained well-deserved recognition at the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) attended this winter.

This January, Theatre Arts Division Chair James Beneduce led his faculty and students to this auspicious competition where college students from across the country demonstrate their craft in performance and technical theatre skills for scholarships and awards. In doing so, many students get the opportunity to attend workshops, symposia, network with industry experts, and meet colleagues and peers in the theatrical arts. This is an awesome opportunity for FTC students to gain national recognition and to submit evidence of their accomplishments and feel proud.

Yet again, FTC succeeded by receiving three Certificates of Recognition for Stage Management and one for Set Design by faculty, 12 Irene Ryan acting scholarship competition nominees, four Maltby musical theatre competition nominees, and one invited scene from the 2016 productions. Students progressed to semi-finals for the Irene Ryan Acting and the Maltby Musical Theatre competitions. This was, part and parcel, of a one-week experience where they were immersed in the theatre arts with fellow college students and esteemed faculty.

So, congratulations to the FTC Theatre Arts Division faculty and students!!

Bravo!!
